I'm fermenting a west coast IPA kit that came with one ounce each of the following hops: Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Cascade, Ahtanum. Following the instructions, I mixed all the hop pellets together and used 1 oz of mixture for bittering, 2 oz flavoring, 1 oz aroma and saved 1 oz for dry hopping. I placed the remaining 1oz of pellets in a ziplock bag and they have been in there for a week. My question has two parts:
1. Should I purchase a new ounce of vacuum sealed hops rather than mine in a ziplock for a fresher taste?
2. If I should buy a new ounce, should I buy one of the hops I brewed with (I'm partial to chinook out of the ones used) or could I try Citra hops which I think would add a nice flavor?

If your going to use them soon for dry hopping your good to go. I only vacuum seal my hops when I buy a pound and break it down. Always keep them in the freezer.
