So, I'm considering a hopback from Stout.

This 2.7 gallon back is not for pressure pumping through. Gravity feed from kettle through back, out the bottom port to feed the pump, which then drives the wort on to a chiller (presumably a PC - but entertaining a CFC, per another thread). $130.

This 2.8 gallon back is pressure lidded and so can take a pump between the kettle and the back, pushing the wort through the back and on to the PC. Nice unit, but twice the price.

Not the best picture, but I hope it shows how little room I would have for a gravity feed to the back on its way to the pump - I'm afraid I'd get a lot of cavitation constantly. On the other hand, if it works, this is an awesome way to run a hopback, something I would like to do. Anyone have any thoughts?
