Alright! I am looking to make a "trial" beer to help me fine tune some brewing methods. While I would thoroughly love this beer to be "perfect", I realize that isn't going to happen with my second attempt at brewing. So far, here is the recipe I am looking to brew:
Batch: 3 gal (made a 5gal fermenter and really only have enough supplies right now for a 3gal batch)
Fermentables: 3.3lbs Wheat LME, 0.5lbs Honey Malt, 0.5lbs Honey at flameout
Hops: 0.5oz Saaz (45min), 0.5oz Saaz (15min)
Yeast: Danstar Munich Wheat Yeast
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.012 IBU: 16 ABV: 5% SRM: 6
*Used BrewToad to help formulate this recipe*
I chose the yeast at my LHBS partly because the temps work well with my ambient temp and available selection. As I said, I am not looking for a perfect beer. I hope to have a slightly sweet, low hop wheat beer with a good kick of honey. I guess more or less I would be interested in any thoughts on this recipe. Looking to brew this weekend. Is the munich yeast going to ruin the batch? Any input would be appreciated. Maybe this might just be mindless ramble
Anyhow, cheers!
