First time using honey malt. Tried it raw. Quite sour initial flavor then the after taste reminds me of a honey after taste. Is the sour initial taste normal. When I say sour I mean about half way to as sour as acid malt.
 
I've certainly never encountered it, and I used a pound and a quarter in a smoked imperial porter a few months back.
 
Sorry so this isn't in the beer yet. I chewed on some of the raw grain. Initial taste of it was sour then went sweet honey tasting. Wasn't sweet from the beginning like a crystal malt like I was expecting it to be.
