I just dropped by the Fermentation Trap, maybe 10 or 15 minutes from my doorstep if traffic is light. They're still getting stuff in, so the shelves are half empty, but I was able to pick up some Amarillo pellets for $2.50/oz, some flip-top grommets, a couple packets of Notty for cheap, and a copy of the Home Brewer's Answer Book. The guys who own/run the place said that they all have "normal" jobs outside of the shop, but opened the place because they were tired of driving 90 minutes each way to the Weekend Brewer. So, wow, we actually have a place now, and it's open on Saturdays AND Sundays! Their liquid yeast wasn't in yet, but it's on the way they said...which will be great. They even have different grains by the pound!

This is a whole new thing to me! Never had a true LHBS before!:ban:

I've been looking at starting one for much the same reasons as these guys. Congrats, and I expect even more beer production from you now that you have no excuses.

Right, right, because I'm always making up excuses for not making beer. More like thinking of ways to justify making ten times as much as I can drink without killing myself. :p

What I wouldn't give for WalMart to carry HB supplies. Brewing at 5am? Run out of chocolate malt? Where ya gonna turn? :D
