Joe Beef is the best restaurant experience I've had in my life. Vin Papillon may be the second best as well.

Hands down Joe Beef for me, and lunch the next day at Liverpool House was no joke either. I've only done wine and snacks at Papillon but it was top notch as well. They do everything so right, it blows my mind. Amazing hospitality, the best service, the best food, and all at very fair prices to boot.

Let's go ahead and not have the "what's the best beer release strategy" conversation.
Because there's clearly only one answer. The one where I get whatever I want.

I will not get any Art. Damn job and child and pregnant wife. Truthfully, I'm actually more sad about missing Farmer Wave

Farmer Wave'd

You're all welcome.

Vanya is a hospitality genius. Marco is the most talented under 30 chef I've ever met. As good as they are now, it will only get better. Also worth noting you can drink hill farmstead all night at any of their restaurants, although you'd be a fool to not drink at least some wine.

Very exciting to see what's in store in the future for them.

And you're 100% right. If you're not drinking wine there, you're doing it wrong. Plenty of other spots in the city to drink good beer. I have a taste for wine, though not a ton of knowledge. Every single bottle I've had there has been perfect.

God I love that place.

I've seen you mention Nora Gray on here before, as well. It's next on my list, but I might have to do Joe Beef once more first.

Lawrence, Maison Publique, and Hotel Herman are all incredible as well. Nora Gray is great though....good friends of mine. They all worked at Joe beef/liverpool house for a while before they left to open their own spot so you know they do things right :)

Lawrence is a favorite of mine as well, and I'm THRILLED about Larrys being open. We had two meals there on the last visit and both were fantastic.

Hotel Herman and Maison Publique are on my radar, but behind a few others.

Edit: have you been to Foxy yet?

Derek at Maison Publique is one of the best chefs in the city so you should definitely check it out. Still haven't been to Larry's but really excited to check it out....been almost 6 months since my last trip there but I'll be up a bunch over the summer. Haven't been to Foxy but have heard some rumblings about it.

I only drank wines at both Joe Beef and Vin Papillon, but I love natural wine probably even more than beer, and they have great selections at both locations.

Really? Joe Beef was pretty good but seemed a little overrated.

In Montreal right now, my favorites are Bouillon Bilk and Les deux singes de montarvie. I have to try this new place Le Mousso next time I'm up there.

Soupe & sammi.... let the high end dining take a back seat to some sweet, dumpling goodness next time you are up thay way... trust me..
I went to Qing Hua Dumpling last time I was there. They were good but only make the mini ones.

But I live near Dumpling Cafe and Gourmet Dumpling house here so...

Can vouch for Herman.

I need to see what the fuss this Joe Beef place is. My work plans aren't so carefully orchestrated where I know exactly what day I'll be there which usually means shut out of reservations when I do figure it out.

But holy F would I be down for a MTL TB Bang. Work schedule permitting of course. ;)

In all fairness, I don't see any issue with folks of her vintage enjoying a fine HF brew. I definitely don't see folks like that at a Kuhnhenn looking for that 4D.

Be nice.
