Well it looks like I'll be seeking it out. How difficult is it to trade for HF growlers? Never attempted it before.

It's very good and definitely worth seeking out! I can totally understand that someone's tastes might run toward Abner over pretty much all else. For me personally it's probably not even a top 5 HF IPA, but it's still fantastic.
I have always felt this way as well.....I'm also not the biggest DIPA fan in general but the last batch I had was ridiculously good. Certainly the best tasting batch of it that I've had.

I do "notice", for whatever reason, that Abner seems to have a bunch of batch variability in that there are batches I like far more than others. Never noticed that in any of the other HF double IPAs except one batch of Double Citra one time that I think had just gone on that day and had been brewed with a fresh Citra crop.

But I also am skeptical my palate is actually that good, so I'm probably just imagining it.

If you're imagining it, then so am I. Abner is the imperial IPA from HF I've had the most times, and there have definitely been batches that tasted differently to what I remember it tasting like previous times.

My list:

1. S&S6
2. Double Citra
3. Ephraim
4. Double Galaxy
5. S&S4

Still chasing the dragon that is S&S 3. And I really need to try Ephraim again.
