Howdy all. Just thought Id intro myself. Been making wines for acouple years and have made few kits (All WineXpert Icewine hehe) and a few of my own creation. I can say all but one turned a very good. Now its time to take the plunge into brewing. Was always afraid of beermaking due to my perception that I would end up with abunch of infected beer, but ive been reading alot and am not so intimidated by it now. Looking to start up mid late september when I will have cool temps to work with. Anyways im sure i will have some noob questions for you all

Greetings from New Jersey! Fear not, ChaosStout, the brewing of beer is not a difficult thing at all. I've just started myself (2 batches done, 1 in primary, and 2 planned) and I am having the time of my life. If you've been making wine, you know the hardest part of the process is keeping the equipment clean... I spend more time scrubbing and sanitizing than I do anything else

If I can recommend a book to you... The Complete Joy of Home Brewing, 3rd Edition, by Charlie Papazian. Read the sections for beginners and intermediate brewing... I refer to it often.

What is your first batch to be?

I'm new to brewing too but it is quicky becoming an addiction. How is the Icewine? I haven't tried one yet? Any recommendations on a good one for me to do?
