Hi everybody!

I'm Andy from the 'great' [rolls eyes] historic town of Gettysburg, PA.

Found this site while searching for hop growing info while waiting for my rhizomes to come this year. This will be my first try at growing. Signed up initially so I could see the pictures :)

Started brewing a little over a year ago with Mr Beer, think I've now brewed every one of their kits. I recently bought How To Beer by Palmer, and this year we are gonna jump into 'real' brewing lol.

I'm currently going to college for Bioprocessing Technology, and there is a great deal of knowledge crossover between brewing and biotech. Though a liter of good beer goes down MUCH smoother than a liter of CHO (chinese hamster ovaries) lol.

Currently have an Irish red ale in bottles and this weekend will be brewing a belgian style wit.

So Salute!!

Welcome neighbor! There's a couple of us over here in Hanover. You are always welcome at a brew day at my place, just get in touch.

Sounds great flyangler! I've been scoping craigslist for a cheap propane turkey fryer kit. 7.5gal brew kettle AND a burner for all my Asian wok cooking :)

What Local brew supply store do you frequent? I've been to Flying Barrel down in Frederick (where school is) 2-3 times. I hear there is one over in Carlise too, but I am never out that way.

The Flying Barrel is the meeting place for my HBC (FOAM), so I often pick up supplies there (10% off as a member benefit helps ;)) or Mr. Steve's in York.

Truthfully, I buy most of my grain and hops in bulk, and use my LHBS or an online vendor for odds and ends, or liquid yeast in the warmer months when shipping can be tricky.

In fact, the next FOAM meeting is May 4th at Brewer's Alley in Frederick - hope to see you there! There's also a meeting for the Lancaster Homebrewers at LBC on this Wednesday.

I'll probably be brewing on Friday afternoon/evening, if you want to come by and chat.

Jason
