Hello all, I'm new to the site and have my first batch fermenting at the moment. A brown ale from a kit, but you have to start somewhere. After spending some time in Germany, I find I can't go back to cheap beer, and was inspired to homebrew by a friend of mine who does it in Alaska. Looking foward to some good advice. Probst!

Another brewer in NC! Welcome, you are right you have to start somewhere and a good brown ale is not a bad start. I was born near Newcastle, England so I'm a little partial to the stuff.

Welcome aboard. If you're not too busy tomorrow night around 7:00, you should swing by Satisfaction @ Brightleaf Square in Durham. We are having our monthly HB club meeting. Good way to physically meet some brewers in the area. Just throwing it out there! Cheers!
