I tried Speakeasy's Big Daddy IPA for the first time while on the west coast a few weeks ago and wanted to give it a try at home. I searched HBT and a few other sites, but could only find one clone receipe. I used that as a based and came up with the following.

I've tweeked many receipes before, but this is my first attempt and building a clone. I'm also giving dry hopping a try on this brew. I've made an Arrogant Bastard clone a couple of times, but I really want to get a freah hoppy aroma and taste from my next brew.

Any thoughts on the receipe below? Suggestions will be much appreciated.

10.8 SRM seems way to dark for Big Daddy. The website says 5L but I would have guessed even lighter - it might be about the lightest IPA I've seen. I'd go with the website info of just 2-row + light munich and drop the C-60 and special roast, and it also lists calfornia ale yeast. I have a suspicion that columbus is used for bittering and the late additions are all cascade and centennial, based on the fact that I get a very distinct character when I use columbus late that I don't perceive at all in Big Daddy. I've never really tried to research this for a clone, though, so that's just an off the top of my head impression.
Good luck with it!
:mug:

Edit: I'd also mash lower closer to 149-150.
