I am brewing today first time with live yeast. Starter is ready and I decided I would aerate the wort with an aquarium pump and diffusion stone. Now I read I should filter the air. Well I don't have a filter and I want to brew today. Do I really need it? Isn't the diffusion stone enough. If not can I sanitize a nylon grain bag and put te pump inside? Thanks

I wouldn't try it without a filter. A grain bag is not fine enough to filter out the bacteria in the air that you will be pumping through your wort.
