I have a primary in a bucket and it's coming out the airlock, the lid looks like its about to explode, what should/can I do?

Make a blow-off tube assembly... Take some vinyl tubing (the length for your racking cane/bottle filler will work in a pinch), push that into the airlock hole (remove the airlock first) and then put the other end in a bucket/growler/empty juice bottle/jug (1/2 gallon is a good starting size) filled half way with StarSan solution so that the other end is submerged. It will foam into that, instead of painting your walls and ceiling.

Let it out! If you're getting backed up into your airlock, pull it out and clean. You don't want to let the thing blow. It can get...messy.

The hole for the air lock is very small won't fit any tubing I have

It might be a tight fit, but it should fit in there. Unless you're using LARGE OD tubing for your racking cane or bottling wand that is. I've had it fit in the holes in all the drilled bungs I use, and it shouldn't have an issue in bucket lid holes. If you're afraid to push it in, slick it up with some StarSan solution... Don't be afraid of a snug fit, you actually want that.

if it's a three piece airlock take the cap and inside part out. You can put tubing over the inner pipe part of the airlock.

REMOVE THE AIRLOCK FROM THE FERMENTER... The tube REPLACES the airlock. Don't put the tube into the airlock opening (inside it) where the extra piece floats (for the 3 piece airlocks)... The tube WILL fit there... I've done it many times.

Different size tubing fits different places, I was just conveying how I did it with what I had on hand when I needed it.
