I am using an auberins syl-2352 and something just went screwy.

Changed the "t" setting from 18 to 2. Temp probe all the sudden reads 700 something. Changed it back and temp probe read correctly again. Was curious what was up and changed it to 2 again. temp probe reads insanely high again. Changed it back and now temp probe is reading about 3 degrees high compared to my thermometer that it has been correlating with the entire brew. Also, set temp is 151, temp probe reads 155, yet still firing heating element occasionally. I'm totally lost here. nothing in auberins manual to explain this. Mid brew right now, any help greatly apppreciated!

Reddit came through. Apparently when you set t to 2 you have to set P to 1 or it gives crazy high temp readings.

I would certainly consider it a glitch, however it is not restricted to my unit. Apparently it is one of those defective by design deals. There is a good thread about it on reddit, which references a post here about a related, but separate issue. Weirdest part was that after I figured it out and changed things to make it work again it needed the offset, "Pb" I believe, updated. I put a fair amount of effort into calibrating my probe. Frustrating to have it uncalibrate itself for no apparent reason. At the end of the day I was able to finish my brewing though, so can't really complain too much.

Can you link the redit article? I've had a heck of a time with my Aubrin PID's wildly fluctuating temps, issues where I set the temp and the RTD temp will just scroll. etc.
