Hey guys, I just joined homebrewtalk and posted this in the recipes section because I didn't realize there was an Introduction section:
This is my first post, but I've been using the wealth of knowledge on this site for a while.
First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you all for having such a helpful and supportive online community for homebrewers like myself. I've been brewing for almost a year and there is no way I would have been able to do it without finding so many answers and ideas by lurking around the forums.
I jumped straight to all-grain brewing after experiencing a brew session with a buddy of mine and was hooked immediately. Apart from my first 2 batches (which were drinkable but I wouldn't share with people) the following is an outline of my first year's brew logs. Like I said before, this site was an invaluable resource that I frequently drew inspiration from (some of you may recognize Denny Conn's Bourbon Vanilla Porter right off the bat).
So I just wanted to say thanks and give back by sharing some recipes and ideas. I will eventually get around to posting the better recipes in their respective sections, but for now I'll gladly post any of them you may be interested in. They are all 5-gal / all-grain batches and I took detailed notes including OG/FG readings, mash temps and fermentation regiments. Its in chronological order more or less, so the recipes in the 2nd half definitely turned out better. Aside from a few clones, I tried my hand at making up all the recipes so they are far from perfect. I've only brewed 3 or 4 more than once due to popularity, so there is room for refinement.
Oh and if anyone lives near me (doubtful since I seem to have moved to a craft beer wasteland) I'd love to swap some stuff. I've just been trying to give bottles away to friends and strangers to keep them from piling up in my apartment...
Cheers!
