Hello all.. recently started home brew wine after a very long break of way too many years.
Just started a blueberry and also a WOW from pure orange juice and also a white grape, pear and apple juice concentrate.
Kicked off the hobby with a carrot wine, then banana and, just a few weeks ago, 6 gallon of elderflower. This I have split into Four gallon of “champagne” and two gallon of wine which is still under airlock and slowly, very slowly, still fermenting. The champagne version is split into 5 proper champagne bottles (was going to be six but a small accident put paid to one bottle) and the rest into 1 litre fizzy water bottles. Bought these from a local Lidl as they were on offer at 39p per bottle (soda water). This worked out much less expensive than purchasing new bottles. Okay, a little more work involved but the saving was worth it, plus couldn’t get hold of any new ones due to demand and poor supply (COVID). Tried one of these so far. It was refusing to second ferment properly so thought it best to consume it 😉. Very nice it was, too. Also got a gallon of potato wine on the go - waste not, want not!
Looking forward to blackberry season along with sloes but cannot help but want to make the next batch... looking at Apple wine from bought juice and that is what brought me to this forum 👍🏼👍🏼
