Hello from Scotland

Very very new to the world of home brewing. Hooked already. Looking forward to learning a lot from you guys and girls. Currently have a Czech Pilsner fermenting. Fingers crossed it comes out good.

I really like my Cougar Country IPA. It uses 8.3oz of hops from bittering to flavor & aroma. But not exceedingly bitter. Lots of flavor & very drinkable. That said, I also like this E/SG (Extract with Steeping Grains) ESB kit from Morebeer; http://morebeer.com/products/extra-special-bitter-ale-extract-beer-kit.html The review at the top is mine. I also have my first home brewing book available on Amazon/Kindle at all Amazons around the world at the link in the bottom of my sig. My own story into this happy madness of home brewing, history, definitions, recipes & more. I geared it toward the beginner & seasoned homebrewer alike. It explains a lot of things. I love Scottish Ales ! My mother's maiden name (and my middle name) is Scott. I have Scots-Irish heritage.

Marcopolo - can't beat a bit of Celtic blood 😉 I'm scots, but have Irish blood too. I also some Norse blood kicking about. The Vikings did settle in Scotland and Ireland.

Unionrdr - reading your book. Very interesting. I would like to try whiskely sometime! Also going to look into Scottish beer history.

A fellow countryman! From Scotland myself, been living in the US for 10 years now, and homebrewing for a year. I'm sure you'll love it, and you couldn't have come to a better forum. There isn't a homebrewing question you could ask that hasn't already been answered (or could be answered) on here.

I've got a Czech Pilsner fermenting just now.

And I'll be starting an IPA extract kit in the next couple of days.

Eventually want to build up to creating my own recipes. But will start small and build up.
