Newbie here.
I've always known that at some point I would start brewing my own beer. Well my wife got me a class and a starter kit at Great Fermentations here in town for Fathers Day. Two other newbie friends got the deal too. It's all downhill from here.
I've got a couple of other experienced friends to help with advice and the seemingly endless knowledge base of the employees at Great Fermentations. Plus the forums here now.
I realize I should pay my dues and bottle first, but I'm an engineer and I like to tinker. I'm looking to go right to the keg. I'll be using the turkey fryer burner and a decent kettle with a ball valve. DIY chiller (maybe). One friend has a free full size fridge coming to him, so we've got the kegerator donor. I'll update our shenanigans in the appropriate boards.
I think it is too late to have something ready for our annual Oktoberfest party, but I'll deal. Last year we all pitched in for a keg of Spaten and we will definately make that mistake again
Prost!
