I've yet to actually brew anything, but I'm pretty decent at drinking beer - so I'm hoping that's a good start. Anyway, this looks like a very valuable resource and I'm sure I'll be asking plenty of questions as I'm looking to get started soon!

That's enough for now - I'm off to the newbie area to see if I can find anything about starting with kegs instead of bottles.

Start with the kegs if you don't mind a little higher costs. You won't ever look back!

there's a good chance you'll end up wanting to give some of your beer to friends, so that might be something to think about here, too.

You could bottle some, and keg the rest. Or keg it all, and use one of those counter-pressure bottle fillers or beer guns to fill a few bottles as needed.

I don't mind as long as it's not outrageous. It sounds to me like the time saved filling and cleaning bottles is well worth the extra cash.

A quick follow up question that I haven't been able to find an answer for. Are there any procedural differences between bottling and kegging?
