Cheers mate.
The first was a bit of an experiment that my father came up with (he has been brewing for years). It came out as a sweet porter. I unfortunately had a problem with it though. He forgot to tell me that the ingredients he had given me for it were rather old, like 3 years old, so the yeast was dead and I had to re-pitch a fresh batch when the wort was a week old. That was grand but then I didn't know that the hops had gone off and the beer has a very stale note to it in the aftertaste. The initial flavour is lovely, but the after taste could kill lol. Probably going to scrap most of it and re-use the bottles for a doppel bock.
I currently am waiting for my second batch, a Honey Wheat Ale, to bottle condition. We are about 5 days away from completion on that one. Trying to figure out what I am going to do for the third batch but am leaning strongly on a doppel bock. Any suggestions for a good recipe?
