Head retention in NB Bavarian Hefe

Question on head retension on the NB HEFE, Tasted first bottle and has good carbonation with the chararistic banana smell plus tastes like a german hefe,but did not have that chararistic 2 inch head more like 1/2 inch that disipated but had good lacing as I drank it. Is there something that caused this or is their an additive for better head retention.

Give it another week or two, it may just need more time to fully carbonate. Was this extract or all-grain?

There isn't too much you can do to improve head retention with extract beers. IIRC a full boil is supposed to help, hops can help etc... There are "heading agents" but I've never messed around with them. Also make sure your glass is super clean and give the beer a really strong pour.
