had surgery to repair a damaged rotator cuff last Monday. for a minimum of 6 weeks, the most strenuous allowed activity is one finger typing, unfortunately it is also with my left hand. i don't know how i would possibly handle the inactivity without the wealth of posts to HBT.
thanks to all of the HBT contributors.

Ha, I feel your pain, friend! I, too, had shoulder surgery 2.5 weeks ago on my right shoulder, as well! Left hand, one finger typing is exhausting! I made sure to brew the night before surgery so it would be ready to go upon rehab time ;-)

Hang in there, drink beer (instead of making it), and try not to throw your sling out the window! :rockin:

i stocked up with 20 gallons. feel to crummy yet to drink it. still have 10 gallons in fermentor, scheduling error.

I had shoulder surgery several years ago and went through the same thing. It was in a sling for nearly 7 weeks due to some complications. This was before brewing though. I'm sure that would have bothered me even more if it put me out of action for several months counting physical therapy. I probably would have given a lot of thoughts to pumps and valves and such, or recruited some healthy helpers.

Edit to add: It's all better now. I lug stuff all over without any issues. Just make sure you put in the work for the physical therapy and don't rush anything. Your body will tell you when it's ready to take on more.

Or anabolic steroid treatments for that matter. God, how I love steroids! But you're right, They make you feel good, but the action of doing brings your memory back real fast, trust me. My car needs both ends fixed, minor custom stuff. The hood pins are needed to lock the hood down due to fubared latch if I can find them. Then I replaced the front brakes after topping off the fluid to get idiot light to go out for e-check, then blew the LR line. My pelvis is fubared & my son works days that can help me & it started raining when he came DOWN THE STREET FROM WORK. bacht!!!!!!!!!!!!
