I made an extract hazelnut brown ale that called for adding a packet of maybe a tblspn of liquid hazelnut extract while kegging. I bottled a 6 pack before adding the extract and probably only kegged 4gls of brew. So now the hazelnut flavor is a bit strong.

Will it settle down with time? Or am I looking at a super sweet beer???

I've found that with most flavored liquid extracts (my experience is limited to peach and raspberry), the flavors do die down over time.

Thanks. Us "Jays" gotta look out for each other. Haha.
Probably wont be doing another flavor extract brew again.

I wouldn't call it quits on extracts after your first attempt. Next time try adding the extract into the fermenter. Instead of adding the day you keg your beer, try adding the extract a few days before kegging it will help to mellow the flavor a bit.

Just my $0.02 :tank:

That makes sense. I think my biggest problem was I added too much extract. It was portioned for 5gls but I probably only kegged 4.
