okey dokey, thebreweryunderground (nice guy) picked up his stuff about 20 minutes ago. this officially closes Group Buy #5. I know, I know...when's GB#6? Maybe mid to late October? This will be the last one until the spring at least as far as me running them. Just follow my threads for announcements of the next one. If anybody thinks that the time is ripe for another one mention it on here. Thank to all who participated and helped out. Happy brewing!

GB#6!! I love it and am already trying to think about the opportunity to pick up many different varieties of hops that will no longer be available in the spring because they will have run out by then.

Not sure what you mean by additional costs but a 50# bag of great western 2-row comes out to less than $30. Saaz is about $8/lb when you buy in 11 pound boxes.

I just wasn't sure if there were any delivery expenses that had to be added in. Looking at the catalog I saw delivery price per pallet, fuel costs, something else....

I gotcha. that price I mentioned includes all of the additional charges.

follow this thread for the next buy. all *we* ask is that if you order grain please have every intent on paying in a timely fashion. Delivery is at my place around Cicero/Grand.

It certainly is pretty phenomenal.. I brewed my first beer with the bulk grain Sunday and I recon that it cost me about a 1/3 what it would cost me getting grain from the LHBS

It's kind of funny I almost don't want to open the bags up because I don't want all the cheap malt to go away. Although unlike many things at least I have tangible results in the end! By the way how do I export a Beersmith recipe so I can post it as text? I've never figured that out.

Did you try ctrl+a to select all then ctrl+c for copy?

Mine was similar, the delivery + paypal charges were about 10% of the prices listed in the catalog.

This was my first time with a group buy, and it went great. My first attempt to mill my grain at home didn't go as well, but I think I still made beer yesterday.

Anyone have suggestions on grain storage options? For now I just have it in those orange buckets from Home Depot.
