Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. Just got into home brewing via a Christmas gift from the fiancee. I've worked in the restaurant business for a long time, where beer/wine/liquor knowledge was mandatory and also worked at a small winery, so I'm not totally noobish to the process/styles/jargon etc. Just mostly. Anyway, I've started to accumulate equipment, starting with a bare bones Brewer's Best kit, a cheap (but large--34 qt!) Stock pot, and going from kits to start, but hope to move to all grain eventually. Just started my first batch last night, an English Brown from Brewer's Best, and hope to pick up another fermenter in a couple weeks to get a pipeline going.

Anyeays, I'm learning tons, and love the forum! Feel free to email with any comments/questions.

Greetings and welcome from southern Ohio. If you're thinking of going all grain be sure to check out all the BIAB (brew in a bag) threads, since you already have a big pot. A way to go all grain without anymore equipment than you already have, other than a 2 dollar paint strainer bag.

Thanks cincydave, good info and good to meet a fellow buckeye. I think I'm going to be doing extracts/partial grain for my first few batches, just to get used to the process, but I will definitely be looking into that very soon.
