Hello lovers of liquid paradise!

So I bought this Grainfather Conical Fermenter and I can't get it to go over 97 degrees.

I have the digital temperature controller which is supposed to be as easy as pushing a button, and then it gets and stays at the right temp! But mine won't budge pass 97 degrees (F). Most of the reviews and/or fixes I'm reading online are for the more expensive "Grainfather" Model - and not the "Conical Model" that I have.

I live in the united states and have 110v - and the manual says it should still work on 110v (albeit it takes longer) - but I can't get the digital controller to move beyond 97...

I've tried un-plugging it.. contacting customers service.. and drinking more.

But no matter what I do, the number won't move - and now I"m typsy, but can't boil my brew.

Has anyone else had this problem, or even better - a solution?

Thanks!

JSchein,

Thank you for your reply.

To be honest when I read it I wanted to deny it.

But you are right.

On page 18 of their owners manual - it shows `180c...

The manufacturer replied to me today and said that it should say "18.0 C"...

That's only a bit off!

They got me - as they never technically say "boil and mash" - and it is a "fermenter" and not brewer.

One step away from newbie and one further into Pandora's box.

I appreciate your response once again.
