I picked up this 12gallon Pyrex carboy from someone off HBT here in SD a few years ago, but was never able to use it...Till today! :rockin:

I'd still be super careful with it, and like the above poster said, build a box or get something for it to sit in. I'd also not move it around too much.

cheers

I defiantly am not moving it much, I lifted it full on to the hand truck its on now so I can wheel it around. Its an easy 120lb full. Though I'm not too concerned about it holding up to the stress of being full. In the laboratory where I work, we have similar size carboys filled 24/7 for the past 8 years I've been working there and there has never been a problem, Its Pyrex®

WLP023 Burton ale yeast ROCKS... I just checked the gravity and took a taste. WOW it's 1.012 and tastes fantastic! I'm kegging it up this weekend, and serving it up next weekend. I'm so glad I have 11 gallons of this!

not really, for the most part I get to my target FG in 10 days, and then hold it there for another 11days.After that it can go for many months depending on the beer.

This beer thought I want as a quick and easy every day beer.

i would have to say that I currently ferment 10-15 gallons in converted kegs (courtesy of my dads amazing SS welding) but I have to say those 12 gal fat boys are just gorgeous, i need to waste some money and brew my "pretty" beers in them. Like a hard cider or something. +1 That is just a cool looking thing, never seen one before!

I see. Cool cool.

Sorry, I thought I posted that. 1.0420. It's not a big beer, but a beer for every day.

I wasn't asking in terms of whether or not it was a big brew, just curious how much it had dropped in that short amount of time. I'll have to try the burton yeast sometime next year (I think I have all of my brews scheduled through the end of the year!) Mind sharing the recipe you used?

Thanks! I may try a 5-gallon extract version of this eventually
