The Walking Dead can drag a bit in places.

I have been watching The Wire for the first time on HBO Go, and man, is that a good show. How had I never seen it before? Not on Netflix streaming but totally excellent if you have the means to watch it.

On Netflix I have started watching Arrested Development over again from the beginning. I had seen the first 3-4 seasons previously, but it was long enough ago that I didn't really remember it very well, so I thought I should re-watch the earlier episodes before starting on the new ones. It's been great starting over from the first episode. I had forgotten some really great bits from that show.

Do you Roku? I started a "Good on Roku" thread, but it was too broad a subject. Netflix is on Roku, amazon is on Roku, Hbo go, PBS etc.

I just got into an argument with my cable provider, so I'm thinking of making the jump to Roku now.

It is more work. You can't just filp it on and zone out, but I think that is a good thing :)

*Pardon me as I wander farther off topic than the people I have admonished.....*

It gets better every week. I got in when Playon was offering a lifetime membership with purchase of a Roku. While it is almost the most useless channel on Roku, as a pay channel, it has potential and will have to improve or die.

PBS is fantastic, Nowhereman is fantastic, the search is AMAZING.

When you search for say...Return of the King (LOTR)

You get results on:
VUDU 9.99
Amazon 9.99
Blockbuster 2.99
and if it was on Netflix or any other channel (EVEN CHANNELS YOU DON'T HAVE!!!!!) it would tell you.

There are TONS of free channels. Classic movies, classic horror, Popcorn flix, Smut (I hate to mention it, but the biggest free porn Library ANYWHERE. It would be easy to never leave home and waste away if you were so inclined)

thanks for all the suggestions guys. I hate looking for movies on netflix.

My recommendations:

Restrepo (live war coverage; maybe the most emotional I've ever been watching a movie)
Breaking Bad - best tv show ever made
Big Lebowski - best movie ever made
The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia - most entertaining and effed up family on the planet

Old School movies:
Juice
Sling Blade
From Dusk Till Dawn

"Mercury makes a good car" !

I don't really surf. I find something to watch or I turn it off and do something else. Roku sounds like it's for me.

OT, but buggar it! Tx's sig got me all excited for a moment there! With my long term (and mid term and short term) memory lapses, I thought there was another giveaway coming up! I don't often use the phrase "Attention seeking pimp".......Or maybe I do, but I can't remember.

Squirrel!!!!

"you don't choose the soy sauce, the soy sauce chooses you"

That one keeps creeping up as a winner in my subconcious......Really it blew it at the end. From the burning of all of the tiny little....faries or whatever at the car crash on, (except for the ****y parade) it went a little wide of awesome.

Thank you for that LGI!

..................

And now for something completely different.

Hey!! Your post was just as off topic as mine!!

Any way....If anyone is looking to keep the wife happy, Doc Martin is one of those typically British, VERY easy on the brain comedy/drama things that is good for a Sunday afternoon. It's real PBS territory. A snooze fest for some, a pleasant couch cuddling time for others. Leave your brain at the door. Those types of shows have merit in the right situation. :)

You are confusing me with someone else......my post did not say "OT", yours did.

Copper isn't the best series ever, but just one upped Deadwood with some hot pig on corpse action. I don't think there is a puking emoticon, or I'd use it.

If you've ever been around/raised pigs, that's how they roll.
