So, I have hops growing up the side of my house, some cent, some casc. Last year was my first year with them, and I got about .75 oz of dried hops out of them. From the looks of it, I should have at least twice that this year.

I made a relatively standard IPA from them last year, using an ounce of Golding for bittering...turned out great.

Any ideas for a fun fall brew to make using an ounce or two of freshly dried cent and casc hops?
 
+1 for above. A fantastic session ale.

Also, Jamil's recipe for amber ale uses a Cascade/Centennial blend - it a great caramelly, but not sweet, ale with a nice hop balance. It's in Brewing Classic Styles.
 
I brewed a Centennial Wheat beer a couple weeks ago. turned out pretty good. A bit more Centennial and I think it would be an excellent beer. Light in color and a good session beer.

I wouldn't even bother with them in the kettle.........brew a nice pale ale and use your fresh hops for dry hopping...incrementally.

The first week put the centennial in, then after week one add the cascades for a week..then after two you are done with it....layers of awesome citrus aroma.
 
So, I went with the Centennial Blonde recipe, and adjusted it a bit for partial mash:
Original:
7.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
0.75 lb Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM)
0.25 oz Centennial [9.50%] (55 min)
0.25 oz Centennial [9.50%] (35 min)
0.25 oz Cascade [7.80%] (20 min)
0.25 oz Cascade [7.80%] (5 min)
1 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-) (Hydrated)

I used a half gal of pale LME and used wet hops pretty much immediately after plucking them from the vines. Used about 3.5 oz of each wet....figured 7x would be enough to account for both the moisture and adjustment from all-grain to partial mash.

I sampled my first bottle yesterday, and I dunno. One word I would use to describe it is bland. Can't taste the hops at all. Kinda disappointed. I'm guessing its something I did wrong with the wet hops. Thoughts?
