Curious if anyone does this. Dme is pretty expensive and I am always looking to cut costs so I am thinking I can pull off some second runnings off an pa/ipa mash and freeze it to use in my next starter.

Clearly it would take up some room in the freezer so maybe use some first runnings and then dilute later with water?

Did that once. Didn't care for all the trub and the hassle of thawing and re-boiling it. Some on here swear by it. But for me...it worked, but wasn't worth the hassle. Just my 2 cents. I'd say go for it. It might be for you.

I've done this a few times. I freeze the excess wort in large Ziploc bags so i can simply cut the bag off and drop the frozen wort in a sauce pan to thaw and boil.

Pressure canning is an appealing option but it admittedly makes me somewhat nervous.
