Freezer lid sticking to collar

Hey all,
I painted the collar and now the lid is sticking to the paint. Is there something I can put on the collar or lid seal to prevent this?

Do you suspect the gasket is reacting to the paint or vice versa? Or is the paint just naturally sticky (eg: some interior latex paints take for freakin' ever to actually harden fully).

I would think a hard polyurethane coating would put a stop to that problem - as long as the poly doesn't react to the paint in some way...

Could also hit it with a super thin layer of silicone grease or something.
