Unfortunately, have other plans for tonight, but thanks for the offer. I'd say that it's been busier during the day when they had bottle sales. Wednesday was cray cray because of the Brew Dogs filming. But overall, not packed like a Black Party or KBS Release type crowd.

You will be able to bathe in CBS. Not literally, but if you've never had CBS and want a "sure thing", this is the week to try it. And don't forget about the other awesome stuff on tap. Today is vintage Backwoods day. And if they have any of the Sweet Repute XXX left, do not pass it up.

I've been to founders many times before. I actually was at the 15 year party where CBS was on draft for like 3 hours. Rest assured I will be ordering few vintage backwoods as well. Should be an awesome time! If anyone is interested I will mule Chicago shelf beer at cost to anyone who can show up at the taproom tonight and meet me. Like I said should be there around 8-830

Cheers,
Jeff

WE’RE BRINGING BLUSHING MONK BACK IN MARCH 2015

We plan to re-release Blushing Monk, a decadent Belgian raspberry ale, in March 2015 to mark the twelfth installment in our popular Backstage Series. Blushing Monk was the original Founders Backstage Series beer, released in July 2011; prior to that, it hadn’t been bottled for four years. Like all of Founders’ Backstage Series beers, Blushing Monk will be sold in 750mL bottles, with a suggested retail price of $16.99 per bottle.

Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

“People keep asking us if we’re going to bring any of our Backstage Series beers back—and now we have,” said Co-Founder and President Dave Engbers. “It seems as though we brew Blushing Monk on a four-year cycle. Our cellar crew hates brewing it because it’s brewed with a different yeast strain from all of our other beers, but we think it’s worth the sleepless nights. It’s an absolutely gorgeous beer.”

Founders’ Backstage Series is made up of boundary-pushing, experimental beers. The intent of the series is to take the diehard Founders fan experience to a wider audience—though all of the beers are released in limited batches. Since its introduction in the summer of 2011, Founders’ Backstage Series beers have quickly become some of the most sought-after releases in the industry.

Blushing Monk will be released in limited quantities across our distribution footprint beginning on Monday, March 2, and will be available at the brewery’s taproom the week prior. This will be the first Backstage Series release from Founders in 2015; beer enthusiasts should expect two more releases from Founders later in the year.
FYI, this is already on shelves in West MI. Most GR stores are getting it Friday, and proclaiming no limits. Let the insanity begin!

Anyone within driving distance to Grand Rapids, stores are posting on FB that they have quarter barrels of Blushing Monk. The store I frequent has one, $285. Let me know if you're interested and I can get him to hold it for you. Not sure how many stores have these, but at least 2 so far have posted.

Any locals who have attended founders fest in the past that can vouch for it? I'm mainly concerned with the type of draft offerings that could be reasonably expected and price point. Also would I have any issues possibly buying tickets last minute?

Taplist typically consists of all the regular Class I and II for the time of year, incl. Founders Fest Wheat, and then a myriad of Class III (BWB, KBS, probably Blushing Monk, Big Lushious and CBS) Who knows if they'll do any one-offs this year. They are getting a little more unpredictable. Beers are all priced the same as normal taproom times. NOTE: the taproom is closed all day during FF.

Pretty sure tickets were available "the day of" last year, but not 100% sure.

Looks like the next Artprize release is Spectra Trifecta, the Chamomile Kolsch that Founders has had on tap for a month or so. I'm a fan, but I know some who are not. Its very floral forward, a great summer beer.

Also heard that Mosaic Promise is being released again

Will buy the **** out of Mosaic Promise if they bottle it again.

If any of you guys are around the weekend of August 15th, I'll be in town visiting family and will definitely be making trips to HopCat, Founders, and Perrin. Lemme know if you want to grab a brew.

Oddly enough, Founders has been completely hush-hush on the topic. Also heard that it will replace Pale Ale in 2016, so perhaps Founders makes an official announcement when they unveil their 2016 release calendar.
