Forgot to borrow the stir plate from school. I'm brewing on sunday, the Three Hearted clone from Northern Brewer. O.G. is 1.064. Seems to me like I should make one. Never done no stir plate though. If I make one tomorrow afternoon and just let it sit on the counter will it be ready to go by Sunday afternoon?

Yes - just cover the top with foil (rather than a stopper and air lock) and give it a swirl every chance you get....

Oh, and try to aerate your starter wort pretty good...

I have made starters for about half of my all grain batches and I have never used a stir plate. I know the stir plate will help but I have made starters without them. I swirl the container, in my case flasks, about every hour and them I let it sit on the counter over night.
