I have bottled a three brews so far, although my latest brew when I open the bottle the beer foams pretty intensely. I have problems pouring the beer as it foams to much so I have to wait or even stir the beer to release some co2, before I can continue to pour. When bottling the beer I used one of the carbonation drops (440 ml bottle). The beer itself tastes great it is very carbonated though. Any ideas on what the issue could be? Should I use half a carbonation drop? I want to start my next brew but I really want to avoid this reoccurring.

how long did you ferment the beer? did you test with a hydrometer that it was all the way done?

Personally I prefer to batch-prime with a sugar/water solution which gives me more control on the exact amount of carbonation.

It fermented for three weeks or so, I did it was stable after the second week. Yeah I am thinking it may be the best way forward.
