Hey, I'm Jason and I think I might be hooked. I haven't actually cooked up any wort yet, but I'm learning. My wife bought me a gift cert for a beginners class at the LHBS and thats how it all started. I haven't taken the class yet but have learned quite a bit from the blogs (billybeer thanks!) and sites like this. I have been cruising CL and have already picked up a decent amount of equip. I have a 30qt pot, 7.5G glass carboy, a bottling bucket, electric rheostat, misc hoses and 5 corney kegs with a CO2 tank and reg. Yeah probably a few too many kegs, but from what I've learned on here they may be getting harder to find, plus I have less than $200 invested so far. Anyway, I plan to do a nice American Wheat via an extract kit for my first batch. Hopefully sooner than later. I look forward to getting all wrapped up in this new hobby. BTW, my last hobby was competition BBQ.

Welcome Jt,

If you haven't made a brew yet and think you are hooked, lol just wait till you pour that first Pint. You will be sprung !!!!

Sounds like you have a great start on your equipment ...5 kegs is not that many... wait till your pipeline of beer gets going, you'll be looking for more kegs...couple in the fridge ready to serve, a couple conditioning ...But wait what about the one still in the Carboy..I have seven and could use a couple more.

My one tip...Give your beer three weeks in the carboy it will make your beer the best it can be...(it gives the yeast enough time to do their job & to clean up after themselves)

I know that Competition BBQ is an art, so I think your beer is going to be great

Cheers

Jeffd
