Hey guys 2 Mondays ago (so less than two weeks), my brew partner and I started a tropical melomel. Our recipe was:
One gallon of %100 natural arizoma brand mango puree
2 1/2 gal doles canned pinole juice
10lb honey
1 diced pinole
1 diced papaya
Ec1118 yeast
Fill to 5g with water
We racked the original fruit off after a week due to multiple blowouts from foam, but plan to add more I'm the last couple weeks.
Shortly after racking however I noticed a white floating substance. It seems almost mucus like and I am very concerned. I have ateacher pictures.

Fruit can sink or float especially fruit with skin that can trap the gases. Keep an eye on it if it isn't getting g bigger than its nothing to worry about. Placing fruit in a mesh bag or hop sock can be helpful next time just be sure to swirl it if it floats to prevent unwanted growth.
