OK guys been a while since I posted. Stepping up my all grain game. Im looking to create a parti-gyle recipe. Plan is for a split of Helles followed by Kolsch. Hoping for SG 1.066 on Helles and 1.048 and Kolsch.

Grain Bill
18 lb 2 Row Pils
4 1/2 lb Vienna
2 3/4 Crystal 10

Beersmith spits out 1.067 Sg and 5.8 SRM total for 13 gallon boil.
My hope is to get 6.5 Gallon for each boil.

Am I on the right track?
Thanks
Harley

Using a 1/2-1/2 split you'd get approximately:

Master batch: 1.067
1st Runnings: ~1.090
2nd Runnings: ~1.045

You could then blend the runnings:

Helles: 6.5*66 = 429 (points needed)

Take 350 points from 1st runnings
Take 79 points from 2nd runnings

90*6.5=585 points -> 350/585 = 60%
or
3.9 gal 1st runnings

45*6.5=293 points -> 79*293 = 29%
or
1.95 gal 2nd runnings

Result: ~5.9 gal 1.066 Helles

Repeat for Kolsch. Use any extra wort for starter wort.

Obviously I didn't hit your desired values on the nose but playing with the percentages would yield exactly what you want.

[EDIT: I just realized this doesn't take into account your boil off if you blend preboil. You'll likely want to reduce your grain bill.]

I spent a little more time looking at this today and here is where I sit. Does it seem appropriate? Im sure itll turn out drinkable at least.

Partigyle
Helles then Kolsch
18 lb 2 Row Pilsner
4 lb 8 oz Vienna
2 lb 12 oz Crystal 10 L

Master batch Og 1.067
First Runnings 1.090
Second Runnings 1.045

Helles Og 1.066
Pts needed: 6.5*66=429
Take 350 from first runnings and 79 from second.
90*6.5=585 -> 350/585=60% or 3.9 Gallons of First Runnings
45*6.5=293 -> 79/293=27% or 1.8 Gallons of Second Runnings
Total 5.7 Gallons
.5 oz Magnum at 60
.5oz Perle at 15

Kolsch Og 1.048
Pts needed: 6.5*48=312
Take 162 from first and 150 from second
90*6.5=585 ->162/585=28% or 1.8 Gallons
45*6.5=293->165*/293=56% or 3.6 Gallons
Total 5.4 Gallons
165* increased from notated 150 to add volume.
.17 Hallertauer first wort
1 oz select spalt 60
.5 oz saaz 30
.33 hallertauer steep 5

Looks ok except for the EDIT I put in my last reply:

If you use my calculations as shown, you will likely arrive at your OG for the batches PREBOIL. You can either adjust the blend to yield a preboil gravity for the Helles and Kolsch that will yield your desired OG after boil off or just reduce the grain bill altogether.

My calcs are representative of what you want to be doing but were "back of the envelope".

Im not sure which way to go. I'm struggling to hit 5.5 gallons with the calcs. I'm thinking I'll wing it a bit with the existing grain bill and dilute to 6.5 gallons of needed.?

That would work.
