So I harvested the California ale yeast from my Equinox/mosaic pale back in Dec. I made my starter and noticed it's very heady after I shake it and while it's on the stir plate. Also my stir bar sounds like it spins faster then goes slower. I've adjusted this so many times. Just curious,
It's my first slurry starter. Anyone have any advice? I'm a bit nervous to pitch it once that time comes. Plan on brewing and using this starter this weekend.

When harvesting out of bottles, start with a very small amount of wort (ex. 200mL for 5 gal), when you see activity (24-48 hrs), then pitch into 1800mL to make a 2000mL starter, 24 hours later you should be ready to pitch into 20000mL or 20L (approx 5 gal.). As long as you wiped the bottle mouth with ethyl alcohol before pouring then harvesting the slurry at the bottom, you should be fine. Just be sure to keep feeding it until you are ready to pitch so the yeast keep multiplying.

How should I feed my yeast? Keep adding more wort? This is the only flask I own. Will I be ok to use by Friday?

When you say "back in Jan." Do you mean this month or a year ago (very long time to save slurry)? Also how much slurry did you put in your starter? For me the beauty of using slurry is that the previous batch was the "starter". But I also use mine as soon as possible.

Please excuse my typo. I did edit that. Back in December 2015 I harvested the yeast. Washed it. Couple days ago I made a w that saved yeast.

I kno I used half of what I harvested. I didn't save a lot due to not wanting so much extra yeast. I plan on brewing and pitching this starter this Sunday. Just wanted to give this starter some extra time.
