I have finally done it! With the help of this forum I have finally made the jump to kegging my cider. I made a basic cider with store bought juice, corn sugar and honey; essentially Apfelwein with an extra pound of honey and Nottingham yeast instead of Montrachet.

I stilled it with K-meta and K-sorbate, put it in the keg and hit it with the gas. I needed to fill four bottles with cider to take to a family event tomorrow and when I tested the batch it was still undercarbed so I came back here and found out how to force carb by shaking the keg. I then used the BMBF to filled the 32 oz. bottles and it worked beautifully.

This forum has been a great resource and so far I have found answers to every question I have had just using the search function.

Thanks HBT!

good deal. glad it was a success! i think ill be kegging my next cider as well. i usually bottle them to age a bit, but its usually to good to wait.

I'm ready to try kegging my first batch. Second guessing if I wanna wait longer for clearer cider. I can already read thru it but I have another batch aging that I started earlier that looks a little bit clearer. No holidays coming up and plenty bottled so I'm in no rush. Just wanna try my corny and beer gun.

P.S. Toying with the idea of priming the corny and letting it carb naturally. I can then fix it with CO2 if not carbed enough. Pros and Cons?

I tried priming the keg. One week in the basement no change. One week in the kitchen just a tad of carb. So, back in the basement and hooking up the CO2. 22 psi at 55 Deg. F.

How long will it take? A month?
