So i asked a friend how he uses his regulator. His instructions were: set the regulator at 12psi and leave it for 7ish days and try it. Serve at 12psi also. So I did this and it flows way too fast! It gushes out the tap so quick that it's all foam. If i drop the pressure to 6psi will i lose the carbonation over time? Do i need to use different hardware?

Yes, you'll lose carbonation at 6psi. His methods are right, but it all depends on your fridge temp. Search the forum for carbonation charts and you'll know what psi to set your regulator at for your fridge.

Also, you could have short lines. If they're 5' or less, they're probably too short. I have 6-8' lines in my kegerators. Long lines = less foam.

The chart is telling me to use about 8-9psi. I'm reluctant to dirty my faucets so i've been usisng picnic taps for now and i think i barely have 3' lines. Maybe that's my problem.
