OK - this is my first fruit beer (fourth beer altogether). I brewed a batch loosley following a fruit beer base recipe. It is mostly Belgian pils and vienna malt with a wyeast saison. One thing led to another (my second AG brew) and I ended up with a little over 4 gallons post boil. I was planning on adding pomegranate juice (about 1.5 gallons) but I'm not sure if I should just pour this on top of the primary (in an ale pail) or if I need to put it in seperate fermenter. If I do the seperate fermenter, should I add the juice first and then put the beer on top? Should I try to mix it?

Im also about to add pomegranate juice to my beer. I'm adding it to my secondary tonight. How much juice did you end up using?

I used real fruit so I don't really have answer to how much juice to use. I used 8 lbs of strawberries though if that helps. My point above was to add the juice first, then rack onto it so it mixes up well.

I'm drinking the pom saison now. I don't think I would do this again or at least I wouldn't use Saison yeast for this. I used two of the large pom bottles from costco - 64 oz each for a total of 128 oz. This was added to about 4.5 gallons and secondaried for two weeks. I don't taste much pom - just a bit of the bitterness.

I may work much better in a lighter american wheat - I think my fruit base was a bit strong and flavorfull - it would have been pretty nice on it's own.
