Been Lurking around for a while now. Just wanted to hi. Just opened my first homebrewed IPA today. Been using tips from a lot of posts on here.
It turned out good, and I am very happy with the outcome so far.

Congrats! I'm new as well and am about to brew my first batch, also an IPA. Did you use a kit? If so, what kit?

I did use a kit. From brewyourownbrew.com. I used the byob san Diego ipa kit. It used all DME.
I followed the kit instructions for brew day (I found this site after initial brewing). Primary for 2 1/2 weeks. Racked to secondary and dryhopped 1 week. Cold crashed for 5 days then bottled. Opened this beer after 2 1/2 weeks in the bottle.

It needs a little more time. But tastes very good right now. Got a very nice head retention and it just as clear as some IPA's I purchase at the store. Good luck. I had a lot of fun with my first brew. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. I'm a sanitation freak I guess. I tasted my way through the entire batch. It keeps getting better.

Boy, that looks tasty. You did everything right, and you had a lot of patience!

Thanks Tupperwolf. Just took a lot of advise from everyone on here (even if not directed towards me). Got an American Brown Ale I will be bottling next weekend. And it tasted awesome when I racked it to the secondary 3 weeks ago. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
