It's percolating away right now!
Washed the yeast (W 1056) from my first AG batch exactly per the sticky. It was a Pliny clone, so ton's of hops, but the washing seemed to take care of most of the hop smell.
Made a 1.5L starter Friday afternoon, brewed up a 6 gallon Black Butte clone on Saturday, pitched the whole starter about 3 PM. By 9 I still wasn't seeing any action, so I panicked and warmed up a second jar of yeast to room temp and decanted and pitched about 10 PM. Woke up to a nice bubbling sound.
I'm wondering if I should have used two jars to start with, and made a 2L starter? OG was supposed to 1.062 and I got 1.07, better efficiency than I expected based on my first AG. (Got a finer crush on this batch).
When you make an average beer would use you two of the pint jars per the washing sticky?
