First batch. How is this looking?

Hey guys,
I started my first batch with a donated SCOBY on 11/29. It's cold in this house so I figured it would take two weeks.
Here's what I'm concerned about the SCOBY has sunk, which I've read isn't a big deal. However there's another layer of something on top that I'm corned about. What's that layer? Could it be another SCOBY?
