So this is the first time I have tried to make my own recipe, this is for my sister's birthday in a few months and I would like any and all input on it please.

Emma the Nutty Blonde

Type: All-grain
Style: Blonde
Batch Size: 10 gallons
OG: 1.047
SG 1.011
IBU: 19.4
SRM: 6
Yeast: California Ale WLP0001
Efficiency: 80%

Ingredients
14lbs. - 2 Row
1.5lbs - Victory Malt
2lbs - CaraPils
Total: 17.5lbs

Hops
IRISH MOSS at 15min
1oz - Centennial - 10.5%AA - FWH
2oz - Fuggles - 4.75%AA - 20min (I no chill so this will really be added around 10 min left but because the wort will be kept at a higher temp for longer I figure it will give a few extra IBUs)

I want this to be what the name describes. An easy drinking blonde with a slight but noticeably nutty background.

I typed this into a random recipe calculator I found on google that had a copyright of 1998 so if any of the AAUs or PPGs are off please let me know. (getting software is not an option for me)

Thanks for the link. I edited the recipe using that calculator.

Does anyone have any other advice for me?

i dig it!
i also do no chill and haven't really noticed a difference from the normal hopping schedule if i remove the hops a few minutes after i turn the boil off.
might want to try that one day :)

I haven't noticed a HUGE difference but I have noticed a difference. That said I have been experimenting with FWH, Cube Hopping, and various ways to do late editions.

I slightly chose the hops at random and I can't find a good description of Fuggles, do you think the hops will work well both together and with the "nutty" flavor I'm going for? Are there any recommendations for different hops or malts that will give me the characteristics I'm looking for?

Thanks for the link it looks like I chose well.

I love your avatar, it reminds me of my roomate's white board
