So my first all grain went surprisingly well. I brewed Yooper's AG dead guy clone. I broke my hydrometer for the first time ever, but I'd kind of been expecting it so had a back-up on hand. The only real "problem" that I had was that I'd planned my recipe at 65% efficiency, it being my first time and all. But when all was said and done I ended up with 85% efficiency! I went ahead and pitched my yeast starter anyway. Looks like my first AG is gonna be a strong one.

Nice. It takes a couple times to find out what your own efficiency is but after that things go pretty smoothly.

My first few batches were right on 75%, then they started climbing up into the upper 80s, my first thought was "cool!" lately I find it hard to enjoy more than 2 without feeling too buzzed, I really need to scale back the grist to bring alc back to normal. Aah a new brewing challenge!
