I just received my home brew supply order and the fine mesh hop bags are not as fine as the bags I’ve been using...thought I’d ordered from the same supplier but I guess not. Damn.

Where did you get your fine mesh bag if you have one???

You can get paint strainer bags real cheap at the hardware store I use the 5 gallon ones for the boil and one gallon bags for dry hopping

I got mine at my LHBS a few years ago. They were branded L.D.Carlson. They're heavy duty, fine mesh material, 22"x9", fine enough to only let very fine dust go through, and withstand the test of time. They're used in the boil to keep hops out of my plate chiller.

Haven't seen them since, they now have much thinner ones, with much wider pores.

I never use bags for dry hopping, they go in loose, much better extraction. They sink eventually or coaxed by cold crashing.
