Just wondering if anybody has filtered there beer or not if there is any advantages or disadvantages? Looks like there are advantages but don't really know. Thank you.

I've never done it, but I've considered it.

Risks are oxidation, contamination, and stripping out flavour compounds, such as volatile hop aroma.

Benefits are faster readiness of the beer, crystal-clear appearance, and removal of virtually all yeast (and subsequent next-day gassiness).

Why would I want to filter? My beers are very clear anyway to the point that friends sometimes ask if I filter the brew to get it so clear.

1) Whirlfloc @ 10min
2) Let things settle for 15-20 min after chilling before transfer to the fermenter.
3) Cold crash in the primary 5-7 days @ 35-36*F after ferment
