Filtered a beer through a two different micron filters after fermentation and lost the malty/body of the beer. Brewed a Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA recipe. What happened?

Your filter not only caught the small particles but also caught your flavor and aroma.

Almost 3 years of brewing and 57+ batches I never filtered once and with sufficient aging never had a clarity issue. The only thing I add is Irish Moss and always come out with very clear product.

What kind of filters did you use (cartridge or bonvino)? What micron rating? To fine a filter and you can lose aroma/flavour but I've never experienced lost body. And usually it's the hoppinesss that you lose with most fine filters (.25 to .5 micorn absolute).

How soon after filtering were you drinking it? To soon and the beer won't seem right.
