Surely you're not saying that these places look anything alike. Just look at the color of the wood on the stools! Totally different!Yes. It's located at 1800 N Clybourn Ave.
(No, this isn't strictly an ABInBev HOT TAKE - the brewpub was built by the same contractor out of Oregon who happens to be personal friends with one of the founders of 10Barrel, who just so happens to be in charge of CapEx for Pub build and expansion - this is the same individual and friendly contractor who built all the other lifeless 10Barrel locations currently fledgling across the U.S. Look up pictures of the other 10Barrel locations and the same drab concrete-and-straight-lines-cause-modern-with-metal-chairs-and-stools-some-topped-with-wood is readily apparent).
I am saving up all my goodwill cryptocurrency for Deep Wood Season, at which point I will make it rain in this forum. Just you wait.

Headed to Chicago next weekend (6/29-7/1) and looking for some recommendations. I'll be downtown in Chicago for a day/night then heading to stay in Naperville for the rest of the weekend as I'm attending a wedding in Elburn.
As far as breweries are concerned, I've been to Half Acre, Goose Island (Fulton), Dovetail, and Revolution in the past and for bars I've done Hopleaf and Clark St. Alehouse. Definitely open to going back to most of these places, but does anyone have any recommendations for other breweries or bars that are worth checking out? Thanks!
LansmanThanks for the tips!
May try to get lunch at Au Cheval that Friday, could grab some beers at cruz blanca and/or The Publican while I'm waiting for a table. Is Goose Clybourn worth checking out?

I live in Downers and do all of my out of the house drinking at Imperial Oak and Burger AnticsSuburbs wise, Bavarian Lodge is going to be closed while you're here, so uhhhhhh Solemn Oath in Naperville, or Alter Brewing in Downers Grove I think are the closest ones to you. I don't know if either of those are worth seeking out though. Bar wise, Warren's Ale House, maybe? Idk. If Bavarian Lodge is closed I can't think of anything close that's a must stop. Brixie's and Burger Antics are a bit of a drive from Naperville.

Skip Au Cheval and hit The Loyalist instead, they also serve tacos and such over at Cruz Blanca. Skip Goose Clybourn and if you have to hit a Goose on Fulton...
if you own a time machine...clybourn is worth it. skip it and go down the street to off color. Thanks for the tips!

If it's this Friday, we are releasing our collab with Allagash, so definitely worth a quick stop in...
Next Friday unfortunately, hopefully it lasts!
Thanks again to everyone for all of the feedback. I'll be with my wife and we are staying with some friends from college so it won't be a day dedicated just to beer. We are staying in Uptown. Current plan looks something like this:
Flight lands early Friday morning, drop our things in Uptown and slowly make our way down towards Au Cheval for lunch. (I know some places may be better, but gotta try the hype!) Grab some beers at Cruz Blanca either while waiting for a table or after lunch. After we're done, head over to the art institute in the afternoon, and then swing by Off Color (any maybe stop by Goose Island, my wife is a fan) afterwards.
May try to head back over towards The Loyalist for dinner or just do Hopleaf/something in Uptown/Ravenswood if time is tight, then we have a wedding welcome party at Fado in River North Friday night
Decent amount of traveling which we will be doing via the El and Uber but I think it's doable?
imo the bologna sandwich & fried chicken at au cheval > cheeseburger
They have a fried chicken? uhoh.....imo the bologna sandwich & fried chicken at au cheval > cheeseburger
Do you, though?(I know some places may be better, but gotta try the hype!)
It's reviews like these that made me try the limburger cheese sandwich at Cheese Days in Monroe, WI one year and not regret it.That bologna sandwich is out of this world.
